Lodging: There are over 600 hotel rooms in the immediate Seymour vicinity. They range in price from the economical Motel 6 and Allstate Inn through moderately priced Holiday Inn and Lee's Inn to the more upscale Hampton Inn. A complete list is presented below. We will be happy to make reservations. You can use our free courtesy car to get to and from your hotel.

Rental Cars: We at Pardieck Aviation prefer to work with U-Save Auto Rental, 812-523-7007. U-Save is the closest car rental agency to the airport and is located near the entrance where Airport Road joins Rt. 50. We will be happy to have a car out at the airport when you arrive if you call us in advance, 812-523-6001.
Restaurants:
The Airport Express carryout restaurant opened in early 2006 at the site of the old Airport Café, about a half mile east of Pardieck. Open from 6am until 2pm, Monday through Friday, they provide breakfast and lunch and will deliver to Pardieck Aviation. There are also numerous chain and independently owned family-type restaurants in town, but alas, there is no truly fine dining in Seymour. And of course we have the usual compliment of fast-food establishments, the closest being Subway, located near the northwest entrance to the field.
Space prohibits
the listing of all our restaurants, but we'll mention several to
give you an idea. The Santa Fe Restaurant has pretty good
Mexican food. Our new Applebee’s and even newer Max & Erma's are
very popular. Local folks go to the Poplar St. Tavern, which has a
full menu. It's like “welcome to P-Street; turn your watch back
40 years.” On Tuesdays at P-Street you can get pizza for two and
a pitcher of beer for about $9. Larrison’s in the downtown area
is also an older style diner-type restaurant. You can use the
Pardieck Aviation courtesy car to get to any of these eating
establishments in just a few minutes.

Golf Courses: We have five golf courses in the immediate Seymour area that are open to the public. Interestingly, one of them is owned and operated by the Elks Club, and it is immediately adjacent to the airport. Even though the Elks is a private, fraternal organization this is a public facility. And they have
a pretty good restaurant to boot. |
| Freeman Army Airfield Museum: Located right across the street from Pardieck Aviation, this little museum is definitely worth a look. It is open every Saturday morning from 9:00 to noon. At other times a "private showing" (no charge) is easily arranged by calling the airport manager's office, 812-522-2031. Don Furlow, the manager, or his secretary, Diane Schepman, will be happy to help you. Freeman Field Flying Association:
The FFFA is the local pilots organization. With over 100 members most area pilots are in the group. The FFFA is very active in both assisting the airport authority board with operational suggestions and as a social entity. They sponsor pitch-ins (aka pot-luck or covered-dish suppers) and fly-outs to different places during the year. The FFFA maintains the Pilot's Lounge where transient pilots can rest and relax, get a snack (honor system) or take a shower.
